Overview
From Lancaster county in Pennsylvania, this American Empire chest features an outstanding original faux-bois finish with painted tooling and graining on the front and sides. Top is painted with a contrasting color achieved with oxblood paint, which is typical of the region and period. Original turned knobs, locks and bone key escutcheons, circa 1830.
