A very fine Charles X or early Louis Philippe bergère in mahogany with acanthus and shell carving on crest of balloon-back, with rounded frame, turned and reeded legs ending on casters, France, circa 1835.
Restored frame and French-polished with re-upholstery in Muslim.

Turned Upholstery, Hand-Carved Mahogany
CONDITION
Excellent. Mahogany frame was restored & French-polished. Original springs have had the jute strapping replaced which were then hand-sewn & eight-way, hand-tied. Fresh cotton batting was placed over original horse hair & then reupholstered in muslin.
WEAR
Wear consistent with age and use.
