A fine pair of octagonal, molded blown-glass decanters for port, sherry and Madeira in shouldered form with stoppers. England, circa 1730.

A popular drink of the wealthy during the 1700's, these fortified wines were decanted to remove any sediments, and the decanters were passed from right to left at the dinner table.

Note: Stoppers are of octagonal form and are likely original.
