Overview

30 in. H x 4 ft. 4 in. D.

A very beautiful American extension dining table in mahogany with well-articulated carvings of palmettes on apron of the round top, which is supported by a center pedestal composed of four turned, carved & fluted columns that terminate in fluted splayed feet. Comes seven original leaves that extend the table to a maximum of 12'. Made of an exceptional quality of mahogany, this table opens in 13" increments. It can open to 78" (two leaves) without the fluted end legs coming down. The support legs fold up and nest under the table when not in use (photographed). Table opens easily and is very stable when extended. The support legs are inset far enough at the ends so as not to interfere with leg room when the table is open. When closed, this 52" centre table is very elegant with articulated carvings on the apron and the legs, as well as a proportioned birdcage base. Circa 1900.

Each leaf is 13" (7) original numbered leaves in total
