A set of (4) four very fine hand-colored copper plate engravings on handmade rag of monkeys by Naturalist George Leclerc Compte de Buffon (1749-1761): Malbrouck, Patas a Bandeau Noir, La Mone (Mona Monkey), and Mandrille. Exquisitely framed in taupe-colored, distressed wood shadow-box frames with brown matting.
Each measures: 13 1/4" wide x 15" high (with frame).
