A stunning French commode with parquetry inlays in kingwood, rosewood and tulipwood, with bronze doré ormolu, original marble top and hardware. Chest is in a transitional form that references but departs from the rococo style of Louis XV, and embraces the more linear style of Louis XVI, France, circa 1775. Comes with working locks and one key. Drawer pulls and key plates, and sabots have traces of original bronze doré. Drawer configuration is two small drawers on top over two long drawers on the bottom
