Overview

From Malcolm Forbes' estate Timberfield, an elegant and long mahogany dining table with three sections, American, circa 1850. The rectangular top above turned central-column base on splayed legs, with eight additional turned leg supports and three leaves.

Table consists of a center section with a carved and reeded center-pedestal. The end sections are banquet tables that open and turn like game tables, and the four additional leaves have their own legs.attached for support. They go between the end sections and the pedestal table in the center.

The table really is at its smallest with the two leaves out as it is photographed on 1stdibs, the length is 12' 7". It does not get smaller then that. If you were to remove the curved ends that would shorten it by about 20".

I hate to post photos of pieces while we are in the process of restoration so keep that in mind. Hardware is not resolved yet and the table top is not polished.I have taken a few photos, including the individual parts that make up the table when it is assembled. The 2 leaves that I photographed which are additions to the table are done very well with beautiful matching mahogany. They add 48" to the length when inserted. (the table is not photographed with those leaves in) They are self supporting with legs that fold up for easy storage. When these leaves are in table will seat 18.
