Description

52" diameter x 28.75" high Circa: 1820 Period: 19th Century Origin: England Condition: Excellent An exceptional English Regency Table in tigerwood with round top over tripod pedestal base terminating in carved lions' paw feet. Offers an ideal neoclassical center hall table or intimate dining or breakfast table. The tripod base makes it easier to assemble chairs around the base which will accommodate six comfortably. A tilt-top mechanism, alternatively, allows the option of storing the table in a corner of a room- affording a beautiful display until the table is needed. The wood "Goncalo Alves" is from Brazil and is often called Tigerwood or Zebrawood, names that underscore the wood’s often dramatic, contrasting color scheme that some compare to rosewood.
