Overview

A charming antique European pine armoire with raised panels on the two doors and resting on bracket feet. This country Biedermeier armoire from North Germany was "scrubbed" of layers of paint to reveal the beautiful & unassuming pine wood which has been waxed & is a light-honey color. It offers two interior shelves that are adjustable, providing ample storage for clothing or linens. Doors open flush on outside hinges. The body is of solid pine and is lap-joined and fastened by wooden pegs. Northern Germany, circa early 1800's.

Refinished. Replacements made: Crown molding was partially replaced. Interior adjustable shelving is a more recent addition as are the brass key plates. Wear consistent with age and use. "Scrubbed pine" refers to the refinishing of antique European pine furniture whose original painted and/or tooled finish & subsequent layers have been scrubbed leaving the original pine which was then waxed. Note: This armoire is in one piece.
