Overview
A very handsome and rare form, this mahogany Empire, pedestal cabinet has carved acanthus capitals on tapered torch-like columns that are in rich birch wood and have been oiled to resemble tortoise shell, a finish that is repeated on the baseboard molding. Cabinet offers a storage drawer above & below the cylindrical cabinet. The neoclassical design is enhanced with fine line inlays throughout & has a very pleasing visual symmetry. Denmark, circa 1810. Comes with working lock and key. A sculptural piece that offers storage for bar glasses & has a very bold and original design!
