Danish Christian VIII fall-front secretary in the Northern European Louis Philippe style fabricated in exceptionally beautiful Cuban mahogany. The front of the secretary is book-matched in sequential, figured mahogany from top to bottom in a dramatic fashion. The graining of the wood carries through to the inside so that the overall pattern seems to continue even when the secretary is open. This Secretary is a tribute to the ebaniste who executed this exceptional masterwork 150 years ago - as it is truly a work of art. The clean and minimal lines of the design give the cabinet a contemporary look. Secretary is completely original including key escutcheons, brass knobs, locks. Locks are working, with 2 keys included. Denmark, circa 1835.
