A beautiful 18th century French buffet/ sideboard in cherry wood with rounded bevel-edged, rectangular top resting on a base with two drawers over two cabinet doors. This graceful buffet showcases the stylistic features made popular during the long reign of the French monarch, Louis XV, which include: paneled doors with foliate carved moldings, carved scalloped apron with fan motif, elaborate steel escutcheon plates & pulls, and short cabriole legs with scrolled toes. The cherrywood, which is a brown, milk chocolate color; boasts a rich patina acquired over its long 270-year history. France, circa 1750.

Refinished. Repaired: Repair was made in the form of a small patch perhaps where an extra lock was placed in the front center panel of the buffet. Drawer locks are original 18th century without a key Door lock was replace in the 19th century, comes with a working key. Wear consistent with age and use. Cabinet has original finish, It was waxed in our workshop. Drawers and inside shelves have a floral contact paper that could be removed.
