Measure: 45" long x 18.5" deep x 34.25" high.

A Napoleon III ebonized console with original Negro Marquina marble top, with one drawer and resting on concave plinth with carved lions' paw feet. Offers original bronze doré mounts of peacock feathers (a reference to Hera, the wife of Zeus), rosettes and anthemions, all Empire motifs drawn from ancient Greek & Roman artifacts. France, circa 1860. Ormolu is finely chased and articulated.

A wonderful eye-catching and elegant piece to adorn an entrance, dining room or bedroom foyer!
