Overview
From the American Gilded Age, a lovely writing table in satinwood with ebonized details and featuring marquetry inlays depicting classic Hepplewhite themes which include lilies of the valley, cornflowers, acanthus foliage, urns, swags & rosettes. Tambour cylinder-top opens to a pull-out desk with inset leather blotter, two drawers & open compartments for letters, bills & stationery. Desk rests on square tapering legs with fretwork spandrels and offers three small exterior drawers with sculpted concave fronts. American, circa 1890.
