Overview
A rare precursor to our modern refrigerator and freezer, this rustic cabinet in pine has an interior that is lined with zinc and a central compartment where the ice was kept, Northern Europe, circa mid to late 1800s. It features original hardware and the zinc patten label on the front. Cabinet was finished with a hand rubbed tung oil and the top was finished with a LEED certified organic finishing oil.

There are minor losses, a separated panel on the left door and some minor corrosion on the zinc. Inside bottom has been reinforced to support zinc liner.
