Overview

A very handsome "Hans Christian Andersen" writing desk or vanity in mahogany with vase-turned gallery, twist-turned legs, and well-articulated carvings. Denmark, circa 1850. In the Danish author's birthplace in Odense, which is a museum, there is a simpler version of this desk which gives this form its name.
Comes with five keys and working locks. Restored in our workshop with French-polish finish.
Makes a lovely dressing table or vanity, too!
Measure: 41 1/2" wide x 21 1/4" deep x 30 3/4" high to writing surface
34" high, from the floor to the top of the gallery.
